November 2021 - Kyle has just finished his 3rd season on the Los Padres Hot Shots, and it was time for the oof-season adventures to begin. We wanted to do a coastal roadtrip, and what better way than to take the 101 the whole coast?!

We started in Bothell, Washington in our noble steed, Bobby. Bobby was a 1994 4Runner with assloads of problems. After taking her in to a janky mechanic multiple times, we got her limping along on the road. We decided to take Bobby from the sleepy suburb of Bothell to the coast in Newport, WA and try our hand at clam digging. The tide went out right at sunset, making it the optimal time to dig. Within minutes we were digging up clams, and in an hour we each caught our limit. We scurried back to our trailer at Sou’wester to cook up a tasty clam and lemon pasta. It softly rained outside while we listened to Reggae and ate our fresh catch.

We continued onto Oregon where we stopped at Short Sands Beach. It was such a magical feeling walking through the forest to get back to the beach. Unforgettable.
